James Maher is a New York City photographer, writer, and educator with more than 20 years of experience. His work focuses on street photography, portraits, events, architecture, and the everyday life of New York City.
He began his photography career by exploring the streets and neighborhoods of New York, where he developed an interest in documenting the people, history, and character of the city. Over the years, he has worked with businesses, publications, and clients while also creating fine art photography and documentary projects.
Today, Maher continues to photograph New York while also teaching photography workshops and sharing his knowledge of the city with photographers from around the world
